In addition to the services of Minite, the sisters are launching “HerFuture” on the 12th of June. HerFuture is a platform and community and builds on Minite’s services by supporting female tech talent with personal and professional growth. The initiative has already secured several prominent partners, such as Booking.com, Accenture and Van Lanschot Kempen. Together with these partners they support, mentor, inspire and connect the next generation of female tech talent with the right career opportunities. As Impact Investors, we see the launch of HerFuture as a unique opportunity to get on board with Minite.
"We believe that diversity and inclusion are critical to innovation and advancement in the tech industry," says Micky Chen, co-founder of Minite and HerFuture. ‘With this investment from Shaping Impact Group, we can scale up our efforts to attract and retain more women in tech careers."
The need for such an initiative is evident, as a recent PwC study proofs. Only 45% of young women with tech-related studies find jobs in the tech sector. Furthermore, it shows that only 27% of female students in the survey are considering a career in technology, compared to 61% of men. Only 3% see it as their first choice.
Jamy Goewie, Partner at Shaping Impact Group: "Minite’s principles and values fit perfectly with our SI3 Fund. Founders Micky and Linky Chen have demonstrated with Minite that unbiased hiring creates better matches and people with diverse backgrounds, names or skin colors are more likely to get the right job. ‘With the addition of HerFuture, we see this as a great time to step in. We understand the need for a platform like HerFuture and are proud to be part of Minite and this initiative."
